home sweet home was made just for janet ...
A few weeks ago, Janet came into the gallery with a fun framing project. She has lived in both CA and IL and thought it would be great to recognize that now that she’s nestled into her nest here. She found these golden state images along with the “Home Sweet Home” print showing the shapes of the states she’s lived in. And, well… the rest is now history.
In keeping with the colors in the prints, we chose a frosted gold foil as an inner mat that picks up on the gold foil look of the states.
The middle mat, a blackcore white, picks up on the black stripes as well as the background of Home Sweet Home.
Finally, grey was a perfect blend of the black and white - keeps it neutral so the images can hang anywhere, but also offers a little depth and contrast. Though it is not easy to tell from the photos, there is a gold line on the black frame, which also details the states.
Janet sent the photo to me showing all three images that hang on the wall in her hall.
What a great idea and fun way to showcase the places called “home.”
