Cheerfulness of Autumn Souls in Bloom
I find myself
"Daydreaming"
now and then,
Of far off places or
a smiling friend . . .

Sometimes I stroll
back in time,
where the pastel blues of my
"Rolling Hills Homestead"
fill my mind . . .
The banty of
"Country Chatter"
brings me back to my farm,
Dreamtime is over, must
tend to chores of
barnyard charm . . .
My "Piglet in Pink"
grins from ear to ear,
A feast of autumn corn
and pumpkins
bring her cheer . . .
A "Shared Song"
lilts on the air,
Orange and black orioles
celebrate fall with
ne'er a care. . .
Toward the
"Peace Bridge"
we clippity-clop along,
We enjoy the sights
of barns and the home;
Oh, look! There's a
regatta of swans. . .

"Summer on the New River"
was filled with adventure;
Whether water be calm
or swift, mattered not
to our friends of feather . . .
Why there's "Ol' Salty"
combing the beach;
Looks like he's gettin'
ready to head
out to sea . . .

"To Harness the Wind"
is the dream of
every man;
Whether by sail or
windmill, I think I can . . .
The "Valley View"
is magnificent to see;
The Blue Ridge Parkway
and Humpback Rocks, oh
how I love thee . . .
"Our Black Barn"
with a harvest of
abundant fare;
black cats, pumpkins,
and sunflower ware!
"Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind."
~ Michel Legrand

Autumn's Best of Cheer PDF ~
"Besides the Autumn poets sing,
A few prosaic days,
A little this side of the snow,
And that side of the Haze...,
Grant me, Oh Lord, a sunny mind-
Thy windy will to bear!"
~ Emily Dickinson
